Transport is all around us.  Many children travel to nursery or school by car.  Our roads are full of Lorries of all sizes and colours.  Children will have seen tractors in the fields or on television, and many will have been lucky enough to have travelled on a vintage steam train.  These are all things that children like to draw.  Easy Art For Kids will help build up their confidence by showing them how to draw the family car or a lorry, it will also show them how to draw more complicated objects such as a steam train or tractor. 

 

The CD-Rom contains backgrounds to print out for your child to add their own drawing, either directly to the background, or by cutting and gluing.  Your child will also enjoy making a background of its own, either by drawing and colouring the background itself, by cutting out pictures from magazines or by cutting and sticking fabric off-cuts. A roll of lining paper from your local DIY shop, or the back of some left-over wallpaper is ideal for making a large background.  If you have space or the weather is fine enough to go outside, you could provide some basic painting equipment (a plastic water container, paint brush, and just a few colours – red, yellow, blue, green), will be enough to get young children started.

 

As your child gets used to painting with the basic colours, then black and white can be added so they can mix up tints and shades (early on the black tends to change all the other colours to mud!).  Children love to have their work displayed so why not start a gallery, or pass their drawings on to grandparents.  With Easy Art For Kids and some help from you, your child will soon be producing drawings, colourings and paintings that you will be proud to display.

 

All children have days when they feel off-colour and want something simple to do, so the CD-Rom also contains pictures to print out and colour.  These are also useful for keeping younger siblings occupied - one and two years olds will probably just want to rip up the paper, but they will soon enjoy joining in with a stubby crayon and will delight in making artistic scribbles.
